Letter from Ava
I’d take the view over the cracked desert land than the city lights of paris when flying above.

As far as I can see, barren lands and tumbleweeds, nothing happens in the middle of the desert.
It doesn’t take too long to get from one end to another across town, just need a bike and some wind.

Dragging my body in 102F weather at night, I can't even take a night stroll to stay cool.

Every now and then, the rare breezes that come down the valley are always a welcomed guest.

Gorgeous pools and cocktails are how I spend every weekend.

It's oddly comforting that power lines streatch on for miles. It makes you feel not as isolated from the rest of the world when you are out here in the desert.

Sometimes I get surprised at the imagination for interior decor in downtown Palm Desert.

Buildings here are faded and old, as if they have their own jadedness that comes with being alone.

Despite the smallness of the community here in Palm Desert, I really appreciate the cultural artwork that decorates the sidewalks.

Long for scenery that changes with the seasons, time stands still in the desert.

I'm always buying chapstick because in the desert, my lips would be as cracked as the land without lip balm.

Joshua trees grow so differently much like how our fingerprints are unique.

The moon shines much brighter when it doesn’t have to compete with city lights.

People here keep to themselves, much like how our shadows never leave us.

There should be more ways we make buildings and places more accessible in the desert.

Darkness in the desert makes all things glow that much cooler and mystical.

The cafe lights here in this crepe restaurant make me wish I was in Paris rather than Palm desert.

I wonder what the view of the desert would look like if I was a bird that could sit at the top of the cable line tower.

There’s a unique Hollywood movie charm to the downtown character of Palm Desert.

So glad a crepe cafe is out here, a great sweet treat to come back whenever I have a craving.

I wonder all the diffeerent ways I can grow when I look at Joshua trees.

Can’t help but appreciate the structural soundness of things we make to live more comfortably out here, like this structured support of this chair.
I wonder who builds these tall structures out here. It must be really difficult with the sun beating down on you.
Observing all the delivery trucks on the road makes my road trip here more interesting. Haven’t seen what an official Cheeto delivery truck looked like.
